Diakonia & Oikumene
In accordance with the elements of the mission of the GKY church, namely the mission in social service, GKY Pluit also has a mission to be a channel of love for the congregation and those in need. The church exists not only to serve inwardly but also outwardly. This ministry aims to show the love of Christ in this world.
At Diakonia, we serve the sick and grieving. In addition, we do nursing homes and orphanages to provide happiness for them. We also engage with our families via video calling technology or visiting their homes. Especially during the pandemic from 2020 to 2022, the elderly cannot come to church, and the Diakonia team is here to comfort and contact them.
Apart from the Diakonia sector, there is also the Oikmas sector. We work together with the Prodia clinic to provide health services for those in need. They can carry out routine checks at Prodia's clinic, and this collaboration will save the congregation's costs.
In addition, we also help natural disasters that occur in Indonesia, such as Mount Semeru, East Java, etc. And during the Covid-19 pandemic, the church opened itself up for congregations and non-congregants to be vaccinated for free.
